Divya Sharma is a London-based British Indian textile artist and an alumnus of the Royal College of Art London. Divya brings myth, stories and culture around her Mother Tongue Tamil and weaves these strands through the labour, colour, composition and scale of her tapestry installations. She transforms her tapestry into a kind of text through tufting. Join the artist to explore this body of work that refers to both the ancestral and contemporary zeitgeist. Rooted in a lifelong love for textiles and texture, her practice was shaped growing up in India in a home where textiles was not merely material, but language and legacy.
