Learn how to transform a sewing pattern into a variety of different designs. In this hands on workshop, you'll explore the concept of pattern hacking and discover how designers adapt patterns using techniques such as dart manipulation, style lines and simple pattern adjustments. Working from a basic bodice block, we'll demonstrate how darts can be rotated and reshaped to create new seam lines and design features such as princess seams. Workshop attendees will gain insight into how garments are developed from a basic pattern and how small changes can dramatically alter the final design. This workshop is perfect for sewists who want push their creativity and dip their toes into pattern cutting. All materials and full instructions will be provided in your workshop kit This is an early morning workshop which will finish as the show opens for the day.
