Inspired by the vibrant colours and patterns of Indian textiles, create a unique design combining layered fabrics, block printing and freehand machine embroidery. You will use colourful fabrics to layer and stitch down, creating a textured background. You will then print on your design, using Indian wooden blocks, before embellishing with freehand stitching. Any basic domestic sewing machine can be used for freehand machine embroidery (otherwise known as free motion embroidery) and this workshop will inspire you to have a go on your own machine at home. Hand stitching can be used to finish your design at a later point. All materials and full instructions will be provided in your workshop kit
